Agile Neck thru LP copies? Cool one with blackouts!!

Anyone played the Agile neck thru LP copies? If so, how do those feel compared to a reg set neck style? Ive always been tempted by the Agiles and the neck thru is kinda a cool twist vs the normal set neck.

This particular model has an awesome feature set: Neck thru, grovers, TonePros bridge, stainless steel frets, Duncan Blackouts!!

Re: Agile Neck thru LP copies? Cool one with blackouts!!

The price on these has gone up a lot in the past year or two, probably because of all the comparisons to a real Gibson. I've owned three, and they are hit or miss like Epiphones, I'd say. I had the lowest level which was my favorite. Nice and easy playing and sounded really good with a pickup swap. The mid-level AL-3100 was to me, the same quality as the 2000 but with binding and stuff, so I sold it. I had an AL-3000M which was a VERY high quality axe, but after the honeymoon was over, I just couldn't bond with it. Action was kind of stiff even with 9s, so I sold it. If you can get one used, I'd say go for it. IIRC though, Kurt has a great return policy so if you really want this guitar, you may just lose shipping costs to return it and try another if you don't like it? In any case, that's a beautiful axe and if you get it, I wish you much, much enjoyment. Just don't expect a Gibson, lol.

EDIT: OOOOOOh, he's taking his orders for custom guitars built to your choices. Tasty. Pricey, but tasty.

thanks for the input! I know not to expect a Gibson and all. As I said, Im VERY familiar with the reviews and feedback on Agiles. I cant get one, Ive WAAAAY overspent 5 years worth of guitar budget in the last few months.. Haha Iwas just wondering how the neck thru feels, plays and sounds. In all fairness, Ive seen the price really climb on the agiles since they started, but seems they have backed off a bit. Just a year or 2 ago they were running like $699 for one with Duncans in it. This one has a bunch of prem parts and is less.

I built one up on the custom AL-3XXX page, and it came out to around $850. Stainless frets, 3/4 maple top, floyd, lol. Wish I had the dough. I'd chance it.

Yeah Bloodrose, I really loved the way the AL-2000 and 3100 felt. Nice and easy, no buzzing, low action. Well, the 3100 had some buzz but not enough to come through the speakers. Bought them all used as well, so who knows how they were treated. Just found it odd that the top of the line axe played so stiff. Not an easy player at all, which stunk because I had wanted one for many years. Oh well. Hey, should I sell a few guitars and get the custom job, lol. Do you have an extra room for when my wife kicks me out, ha ha!

I dig it but that pickguard has to go, I've seen the top of the food chain agiles go for under 200 bucks used at Guitar Center all the time, wait to see if you can find one used before you shell out the dough.....
