Re: agiles?

I really think that's the ugliest of all the lp's they have, but if you like it then it's cool. Other than that, the agiles i have played have all been a really great value. They were better before they changed them to get gibson off their tails. i'd get one before an epi, your talking about a 300 dollar difference. Thats a lot of money. Im positive you'll have to change the pup's, but im sure it'll play great especially if you throw some duncans in it.

Re: agiles?

the jumbo frets are the thing that always put me off agiles, but to each his own. do a search for agile in this forum and you will find a wealth of information. if you are looking for a cheap LP copy, then i would actually recommend xaviere guitars at http://www.guitarfetish.com

they dont have much of a rep but i have owned two and was highly impressed with the quality considering what you pay. def better than 90% of epis ive played

Re: agiles?

agiles generally have a good rep with people on this forum. you can try doing some searches to see threads about them.

Re: agiles?

I'm really liking the Les Paul Silverburst copy. I like the features (other than the pickups, of course). I don't own one, but from all the threads I've seen about them on other forums, the seem like a great deal, especially compared to Epiphones.

My neighbor got a really nice looking one. I'm usually not a fan of spalted guitars but his looks great to me.

Re: agiles?

I've had my DC-2500 (double cut LP) for about 4 years now. It's been the greatest backup guitar I can ask for. Its reliable (once the electronics are swapped, including p'ups), plays great (the frets are actually smaller than my tele), and feels right.

Again, this is 4 years ago, I haven't played a recent model so I'd imagine things have changed quite a bit considering all of the cosmetic changes

Re: agiles?

It would probably be a great, project guitar/beater guitar. I imagine it wouldn't stand up to a good LP, but it would probably get you into a similar area once you upgrade some stuff.

Re: agiles?

The 2000 are on par with the Epi LPs. I had a 2500, it was nice just not for me. The $200 Agile will be or make a great project platform.

Re: agiles?

...thanks guys..i'm deciding between the above pictured one, or the rootbeer finish....problably going to throw a duncan custom in the bridge, and a pearly gates in the neck...

Re: agiles?

The rootbeer is hot. Sound like a fun project, I would swap out the pots and switch also.

Re: agiles?

I own an al2800 silverburst and it's a great guitar for $300. The stock electronics are garbage like everyon says, but a good swap does wonders. Mine has the emg ZW set and is strung heavy and tuned to drop c for downtune duty. I honestly don't like it as much as my epi lp, but I'm convinced my epi is unusually good for an epi.
