AHB-3 or AHB-2: Which ones better for BM and extreme metal?

Hello everyone

About a year or so, I bought an AHB-2b (bridge) Blackouts pup for a mod I did on a B.C. Rich.
Man, what a difference with the 81s I have in a Jackson!!

So much so, that I am planning on replacing the bridge pup in the Jackson now (I'm actually pleased with another 81 in the neck on this guitar).

I play black metal (mostly symphonic stuff) and I'd like to know if instead of buying another AHB2, I'd be better off with a AHB3 (for this particular genre)?

I ask this since there are no sound samples -yet- for the AHB3 on this site or anything else I can use as a reference

Symphonic black metal? I've never heard of that 'style'.
I would go with the AHB3 so you will have 2 different pickup. IMO it would be boring to have 2 guitars with the same pickup. My 1 øre.

AHB3 is a modified version of AHB-2 for Mick Thompson. It is supposed to have much tighter lower end and more scooped mids.

Depending on some many factors such as guitar's construction, wood, string.. etc AHB2 might sound different in Jackson and your BC rich.

If you have easy connection you can simply plug it out of your BC and try it in your Jackson to see how it will sound like.

i've never played the 2's, but ill tell ya what, the jump from 1's to 3's is effin awesome dude. i made a vid with the 3's, its a cover not a review, in the vid im using a maxon OD9, and an ISP decimator into a blackstar HT-5 head and a mesa recto 2x12.

he definitely has the "LOG" tone going on there which might be the issue.
