AHHHH! Neck pulling up off body on Ovation Celebrity!!!!

I picked up my acoustic and notice the action was a mile high. And then I saw that the neck was sort of pulling up!!!! (guitar tuned Eb at the moment!, light strings).

I pushed it back down 1/8-1.4 inch it was up, and it seems ok at the moment.


Easy fix with some Gorilla / Elmers Wood Glue or what?!?!?!?!?!

Don't those necks screw on (on the inside)? Might be loose.

Do not use Gorilla glue, it will not hold. Use Titebond or Elmer's.

Idk about the neck on those... but I had one hanging in the music store, where I used to work. One night I was closing up, no one else around, there was a loud bang... scared the ever loving sh*t out of me. I got looking around for where it came from. When I finally found it, the bridge on this Ovation had ripped completely off the body. The strings and bridge were still moving from where it came off... On a side note, every guitar in the store was tuned Eb...

I swear every 2nd hand Ovation I've seen at pawn shops and so forth needed a neck reset. I used to really like those guitars until I noticed this seemingly awful trend..

Busted a string at practice last night. That said - it ripped through Little Suzi no problem.

And….

Looks good this morning. I'm not pressing it hard, but if I have any issues I'm just slapping the Elmo's in there and clamp it for 72 hours.

is that even really wood in there that's being glued?

if you're not going to take it to a luthier or a repair guy, I've used the regular Elmers Wood Glue in the past but have started using Titebond III Ultimate (the green label).
