Aims LP Anyone???

Does anyone have any info on Aims guitars? I know the basics. Don Randall bought them and distributed them in the mid 70's. They were made in Japan at one of the main manufacturing plants. They came stock with Maxon pickups. I have 2 of the LP's and one Tele. I hope to get my hands on an SG at some point. I LOVE the necks and the maple fret boards. I was hoping for info on Serial numbers, years of manufacturing and anything else.

Anyone got anything?

Here is a pic of one of my LP's

Not a lot of info out there but there's one on eBay currently. Top is arched ply and hollow underneath, believe it may be a ply body if I recall (almost purchased one a few years back).

Yeah. That one has been there for a long time. They are asking Way too much. It will never sell until they lower that price. I bought 2 off of EBay in the last year. The tops are arched ply and hollow underneath, but the bodies are not a multi ply. They are a few pieces, but not the multi ply. Great guitars.

Neck was nice on one I found and def has a retro cool factor. Pretty sure some Amplifier Company marketed them way back when.

If they come with the Maxon Dry Z pickups in them, its probably why the asking price is high.

Re: Aims LP Anyone???

Unfortunately they are not. Some people refer to them as Maxon Super 70's. I don't think they are the same as the Super 70's that they made for Ibanez. I have not seen any conclusive evidence that they are Alnico 8. Does anyone have any rock solid info on these? This is just a pic that I grabbed off the web. Mine are the same and they were made in '73.
