I can say I have a major love affair with the Air Norton in the neck, it's too polite in the bridge

The air norton I don't like at all in the bridge, however I think it's one of the best neck pickups made.

I need it for the bridge. It is going with 2 virtual 2 noiseless single coils. It will not be my main guitar for metal stuff. The body is alder (the yamaha in my sig). Dimarzio's tech support said the air norton was great for what I wanted but wanted ask here. I will use it for cleans and just a lower output sound. I am trying to decide between the Air Norton and Fred

Check Jemsite for opinions as well...from reviews I've read the Air N is not a great bridge PU. The Fred on the other hand is...as long as it is not a real bright guitar - sounds OK split but not great. With a single it'll be louder but it's a fairly balanced tone - should work well.
