AKG solid tube problem

i have a AKG solidtube that doesn't work . the power supply goes on but the mic produces no sound. i've tried it with different preamps and changed the valve/tube and it still doesn't work. i hear a pop when i plug the 6 pin xlr in but thats it. anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Check the chain, cable, inputs to the sound card, etc.

i have, except the 6pin xlr as i dont have a spare. i dont think its the cable though, the valve is lighting up so power is getting to it.
