alan holdsworth pickup?

anybody have any experience with this pickup? is it a seymour duncan?

There are deinately 2 Holdsworth pickups. One made by Seymour Duncan and currently by Carvin. I think the old Ibanez Holdsworth models had an Ibanez Holdsworth pickup. There may be more but that's all I'm familiar with.

In terms of the Duncan offering, IIRC someone on here said that it was like a JB but with an A2 magnet and hex polepieces. Other that that hearsay, I don't know. If you're really interested, drop the custom shop a line.

Actually the Holdsworth is a JB with an alnico II magnet with a double row of fillister pole pieces. Readily available if you have two JB pickups available.
