Alinco Classic PROS Specs

I have an Epi SG Pro that has the new Alnico Classic Pros. I’m a newbie to pickups but they sound pretty good.

I see they have Alnico V magnets. What are the specs? I’m interested in the SD Whole Lotta Humbuckers and they also have V magnets.

Re: Alinco Classic PROS Specs

I’m looking at 2 different Epi Les Pauls. The Standard Pro has Pro Buckers on the neck and bridge. The Traditional Pro II has an Alnico Classic Pro at the neck and a Pro Bucker at the bridge.

Welcome to the forum!

I am a little confused about your question. You are asking about changing pickups in a guitar you don't have yet? I'd get whatever guitar you like, and if you play it for a bit, and want something different than what the current pickups provide, them start looking at replacements. Replacing them without hearing the current guitar is sort of a shot in the dark.

Yep sorry about the confusion. Yes I’m curious about the quality and specs of the Alnico Classic Pros and how they compare to the Whole Lotta Humbuckers.

Put some actual pictures of the pickups you're talking about, as what you're saying is not quite correct.

The Epi Les Paul Standard Pro has Pro Bucker 2/3 and the Traditional Pro II has Classic Pro/Pro Bucker.

Do your p'ups have these exact same stickers?

Not sure just going off specs listed for my Epi 1966 G400 Pro and the Trad Pro II LP I just bought. Has Epiphone not installed the advertised pick ups in their guitars before?

Re: Alinco Classic PROS Specs

My research on the Epiphone Alnico Classic Pros has revealed there’s been some confusion on the magnets used in the pickups. The ACPs use V magnets and the 57 Classics the ACPs are supposed to emulate have Alnico II magnets.

If you mean the 1961 Pro, then yes; the ones I depicted are actual Epiphone Alnico Classic Pro p'ups.

and the Trad Pro II LP I just bought.

If this is the one you bought, then the p'ups installed are an Epiphone Alnico Classic Pro neck in the neck and a Probucker 3 in the bridge.

Has Epiphone not installed the advertised pick ups in their guitars before?
I've seen people getting confused about the instruments they themselves bought.

However, for the record, all p'ups actually installed in your guitars are Alnico II p'ups.

Re: Alinco Classic PROS Specs

Regardless of specs, I'll tell you this: My 339 has those ACP pickups and I have no urge to change them. Pretty decent set as it is.

Re: Alinco Classic PROS Specs

Just got a Epi Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro with the Pro Buckers. Will keep them for a while cause I’ve heard good things.

Discharged I want to apologize if I sounded smug. I was pouring through some older threads and saw where you pulled out some Alnico Classic Pros and looked at the guts and posted them here on the SD forum. According to your older post the Classic Pros are II magnets and not V.
