I totally Agree. Sounds like "THE RIGHT PICKUP" for mahogamy guitars to me. Sounds transparent in a way, balanced (depsite the fact that its NOT balanced technically but once on the guitar it really gives you the right balance)
I get the feeling that the sound really comes from the guitar and not from the pickup.
At first i ws expecting something MORE but in the end i think that's the best tribute to the PAF i've tried. (that means it completely blows away the original Gibson paf's IMO)
The C-5 is one of those rare pickups that sounds just as good clean as it does with any kind of gain. It sort of bridges the gap between a 59 and a pickup made specifically for metal.
Like all pickups, it's got to be in the right guitar though. I didn't love it in my strats or a basswood superstrat. It really belongs in mahogany guitars like Gibson and PRS.
