All cream all the time

I know this has been beat to death some years back. So the legend is Dimarzio has the patent for all cream standard humbuckers....not sure how that went down but..... I do indeed have a SD Pearly Gates double cream installed in the bridge of one of my Fender Toronados. The neck is a SD 59 in all white. The color mismatch bothers me ( but the tone doesn't) and I want a double cream 59 four conductor in the neck. Is this possible?

Yes, but apparently not from the factory. It's often suggested that one get a zebra and a reverse zebra and then combine the cream coils.

Building it is the fastest and easiest. Double cream '59s come up for sale though.

...and it's a trademark not a patent.

Re: All cream all the time

Making them yourself is the only guaranteed way to get them. Lots of people here have done it, and they could walk you through it. I have never done that, though- but I don't even like cream as a color.

Sounds like more work then it is worth. I think I will wait 30 or so years for the white one to age!

Re: All cream all the time

I actually like it better, but I am still not a fan of cream. I'll take mint. Or a flat black.
