How different will the sound be if i put the A2P bridge pickup on the neck position?

I'm guessing less bright (lower resonant peak) and more bass (higher dc resistance)?

you're pretty well on the right track, it'll have a little bit more output too.

warm, ROUND tone. not sacrificing the highs though and pinch harmonics

I take it you already have experience with the A2P neck model?

I like that pickup in the neck quite a bit- I have it in two guitars. It sounds great in neck applications. I tend to not do a lot of pick harmonics while using the neck pickup but I'd imagine there would be better choices if that was very important to you.

No, I don't have any experience with the A2P neck.

I'm basing it all from A2P users and the replies I got from here. And I got the idea of the A2P when Slash said that's the pup he uses. Of course, Slash has arguably one of the best tones ever.

the brightness and harmonics are secondary. it's the "ROUNDness" of the tone that i'm looking for. i usually do pinch harmonics using the bridge pickup, but as much as possible, i want my p.h. to scream as well when i use the neck pickup.

i asked a lot in here. my original choices were the 59 and PG. but it went to the a2p after reading a lot of opinions here.

Well if you want the high end presence and a round tone then the Alnico 2 Pro Neck will suit you well. The high end may be a little lacking if you're looking for something that will do the pinches, I'd also recommend the Pearly Gates Neck model for you if that's the case. The one thing to remember about slashes tone is that he uses Marshalls, amps that are notorious for their brilliant highs and mids, they give his pickups the high end presence you hear for the most part. If you have a darker amp you may want to really look into the Pearlys.

Thanks Bryan! I really appreciate the replies.

I use a JTM60. And I'm going to use it on an Epi LP.

I'm pretty confident that I can hit pinch harmonics well with the A2P, though it wouldn't scream as much as with the PG.

The reason why I asked this btw, is that someone is selling me his A2P bridge at about half the retail price. So I want to know if my tone won't differ too much.

Also, I'm not overly concerend with the slightly higher output since I will put a Custom on the bridge position. Though someone is offering me a great deal for his Custom5 bridge, which of course got me thinking again.

Re: Alnico 2 Pro bridge in the NECK position?

If you really want the change you can always buy an alnico 5 mag and switch stuff up whenever you want a change, it's easier than you think. To tell you the truth the differences between bridge and neck models of some pickups is fairly negligeable, so it may actually work out quite nicely for you, just keep us all posted with what you end up doing.
