Alnico 3 for Strat?

Has SD ever made Alnico 3 pups for Strats? I’m thinking about doing a ‘54 Strat project.

If not, does anyone have any experience with Fatpups Early ‘54s or Tone Hatch Alnico3 Strat pups?

i dont believe that duncan has done any a3 strat pups, at least not outside the custom shop.

i havent tried either of those pups, but i do like the fender ej neck pup a lot which is a3

from a winder, regarding my PU with the A5/A2, A5/A3 magnet mix (A5 for wound strings) for a single coil, he told me the differences between an A2 or A3 rod magnet aren't big.
I don't know if that's true or if he just didn't want to go in the debate, because he recommended all A5 anyway since they where overwound and he recommends it for vintage output...

For PAF style PUs i prefer the A3 over A2, since A3 has more clarity to my ears (at least in the SH-1n 59). If this still applies with rod magnets I don't think this is needed with low wind single coils.

Interesting

Not the middle pup? I think it is an A3 too if I remember.

Correction. I confirmed that the middle is an A5. Too bad they don’t sell individuals from the EJ set. Although from the reviews and samples the whole set sounds pretty sweet to me—not necessarily my style of playing but I don’t see why these wouldn’t work.
