Alnico 8 in FullShred...

Yep that's right! I thought the A5 version was perfectly crunchy and tight, and the Ceramic version I have now gained low mids while I prefered the old EQ to be honest.
Would a A8 magnet solve this? If it's truly in between Ceramic and A5, it should work wonders I take it...

With A8 you'd have little less bass , a bit more mids and a bit less treebles (softer)and ouput than with ceramic .

Yeah do it! I put Alnico 8 in a JB, a Custom and a 11k 42AWG boutique overwound PAF. Its clearly what fab said: beefier than the A5, but not as harsh/bassy like a ceramic. Best of both worlds!

BTW, If you want a tad more ASS of out it, you could probally chance one set of hex screws out for standard poles, sort of like a demon!
