Hi
I got this studio recording with my Gibson LP SLahs signature (Custom shop).
This one has original APH-1 Alnico II pros pickups by Seymour Duncan.
I thought it would be nice for you to hear those pups in studio environment:

This Slash pickups are overall really bright. They tend to be aggressive, and cut through the band.
I found them to bright for my tastes, although, I must say they have really great string definition. Cleans up great on volume pot, almost no tone lost. I noticed all Duncan pups do that very good.
With lot of gain and really loud amp they getting warmed up, so you can hear that in a solo bit (2:40 min)
I guess Slash plays them on a big, loud amp, so he gets them sounding warmer and fuller while still keeping clarity and definition.
For Slash tone, special Use your illusion I & II albums, this are dead spot on.
Think of "You could be mine", "Estranged" song etc. :headbang:
Closest description would be those pickups are dry, aggressive, Texas like sounding with great string definition (good for solo). Would not use them to catch some old, vintage vibe rock sound. :nono:
I eventually ended up replacing those with warmer APH-II Slash sig pickups and tried also some BB & other pickups in this guitar.
Let me know what you thing
Keep rockin'
