Alnico Pro II (APH-1) with a RCUO A5 swap???

Alright, so I looked up the APH-1 set with plans to order it. But the cost was higher than I thought. For some reason I thought it was the same price as the Hotrod set. But with cost of the mags, the APh-1 set is the same as the APH-2 set. So, I think I am going to give the IronGear Tesla Shark set a shot. At least with those I'll know that I am going to be close to the APH-2s, but with a tighter low end. Which again was really the goal all along for this Slash sig model LP clone. And going that route allows me save enough money to order a set of push/push pots and do the Jimmy Page wiring while I'm at it. I will try to remember to post the results once it's all complete.
I do think I will try the APH-1 set with those mags in my next mahogany body build though. It really sounds intriguing.

Thanks again fellas.

Hope it works out. I thought its odd that Seymour Duncan seem to charge more for the APH-1 and some of the others with A2 magnets.

As you said, the difference is slight. They have a little more high end than A2's. I like that extra bite. An A4 in the neck is a good idea, wouldn't have as much low end as an A5.
