Re: Alnico Pro II Neck in Epi Dot Studio question
I've learned many things by trial and error with my guitars and PU's, and have also learned a lot from this forum. I pass all of that on to anyone that I think can use it. Glad to help you out.
First step in a tone quest is to adjust the set up; start simple and cheap, then work your way up to replacing parts. Most tone solutions don't cost much. QUOTE]
+1 I agree 100%. I come from the school of Strats and have only really tweaked strats to my preference. This is my first dual humbucker configuration and on a semi hollow nonetheless. I really only thought the poles where adjustable for finetuning string loudness. But raising them hire than the other side worked great for me. Still tweaking it out.
Humbuckers are a new beast for me and I hear the sound in my head but wasn't able to convey it through the semi hollow. No matter what amp I plugged into the neck would come out sounding like a solid body guitar which isn't a bad thing if that is what I wanted to play but to get that nice organic tone, I needed something else. This is doing the trick. Time for a weekend of obsessive tweaking![]()
