Alternatives to Jazz/JB

Re: Alternatives to Jazz/JB

How about just buying a used set of pickups? Surely these are available from someone not too far away, and you could save a couple bucks at the same time.

:nervous:
Simply: I don't want give more money to UPS or other couriers. My dealer friend has many pups (also used) and... I have not to pay shipping :)

Duncan - Custom in the bridge, 59 in the neck.

Dimarzio - AT-1, Evolution (any model, including neck), D-Activator, or Super Distortion in the bridge. Air Norton in the neck.

As I said:
"Very different wind (12.5K), so likely to be a pretty different beast."
That was me doubting the claim. I haven't owned one, but I've listened to several recordings that used them. Seemed thicker, darker, broader mids to me in the recordings I've heard.

Happen to know what sort of baseplate on the BBQ? Seems pretty thick for a 12.5K pickup in the recordings I've heard, curious if it's brass...

Actually interesting you ask about the baseplates. The ones that i have that are older are on plastic baseplates. have some that are newer that have covers that are on im guessing steel it might be silver coated brass never scratched it but it doesnt feel like aluminum.

I dont know if its a early vs later production thing or if its a uncovered vs covered thing.

There are some sonic differences between them but I always chalked it up to covered vs uncovered but maybe theres more to it.
