Kinda late to ask! It's all paid for and on the way.

Thought about getting the Echo Park but for a few bucks more the DL4 seemed like a more complete package...

Echo isn't a big part of my sound but I like it once in a while.

My old Echoplex is getting so noisy and warbly...

I like L6.

I have the Line 6 modulator pedal, it is on all of my recordings and comes to all of my gigs. Love the thing, so much so, that my other guitarist got one for himself. Sturdy as hell and tons of versatility. No need to feel bad, some of that old stuff just ain't worth the fight for live play and is better served in the studio where it isn't getting knocked around.

I really think you'll enjoy it. I got an echo park and within two weeks returned it and got a DL4. Great Pedal.

My exact thoughts. The Green and Blue are modern classics. If you know how to get a good sound out of analog gear, you can get a good sound out of Line 6 gear. As good as analog pedals sound, they have more limitations than these L6 modelers, which can have every detail of it's sound manipulated. Tweak and Tweeze are good names, because there's no real way to describe their function.

Check out Mincer's acoustic Christmas clips in the T&C room. Amazing looping demonstrations. Had me GASing for one for weeks.

Cool! All the reviews tend to be rave reviews and last year when I was ready to buy an Echo Park you guys told me to go for the DL4 instead. So I finally did.

Should have it next week. Thanks!

Re: Am I going to like the Line 6 DL4 I just bought???

i have an echopark..is the line 6dl 4 alot more better?

i just got it because i wanteed to try a delay pedal at a good price and i got the echopark the week it came out for way cheap.

hmnn now your making me want to get a dl 4 haha

Re: Am I going to like the Line 6 DL4 I just bought???

Lew, I've got a DL4 too. Christian convinced me to buy it when I was on the delay hunt and I have to say he was spot on. The DL4 is great whether you need a bit of slapback, ping pong, or a spacious auditorium type of sound. Line 6 even put in some models of their own which are kinda fun to play with.

On mine I use the Tape Echo, Volume Swell, and Ping Pong. The Volume Swell/delay is a great effect. Especially if you are trying to simulat something fading in, not exactly the same but people get the point.

The only down side is the cheap C batteries it comes with don't last very long.

Well, I don't know you or that product, so that's a tough question.

Re: Am I going to like the Line 6 DL4 I just bought???

I've got a DL4, and I haven't once removed it from my pedalboard. The only thing I don't like about it is that it takes up a good amount of real estate, but all the pros make up for that small downside.

I still want to check out the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo, but that's about $1k, so I can wait. :)

Let us know how you like it.

I'm looking forward to it. Christian's advice (and your own!) is usually right on the money. I'm going to start gigging again next month and I want just a touch of echo for somethings. I have a cool old echoplex but it really needs a complete re-build to be reliable and my Boss DD-3 is a cool pedal but since the Line 6 Verbzilla made my my Boss RV-3 sound like a tin can I'm thinking the DL4 should really improve on the Boss DD-3 too. :laugh2: Lew

That cracks me up because IIRC C has only used mine and I could have sworn he didn't care for it all that much.

Re: Am I going to like the Line 6 DL4 I just bought???

The DL4 is really popularwith pros on stage and in the studio.

Re: Am I going to like the Line 6 DL4 I just bought???

Lew, you REALLY need a Rocktron Short Timer delay. I have both this and the Echo Park.

My guess is that you will wind up using the Short Timer more than the DL-4.

They are stupid cheap, and they sound G-O-O-D!!!!

It's funny...but I've never been attracted to the Rocktron stuff. Probably just the way they market themselves. Lew

I hear you on that. But when Guitar Player Magazine did a test a couple of years ago comparing the Short Timer--they proved it to be a clear winner.

This is not an expensive pedal--I bought mine for just a little over 1/3 the street price of the Echo Park. My only complaint is that it might be a little big, but this pedal earned a permanent spot on my pedalboard.
