epiphone made a great synthetic Ebony called Ebonite for a while ...don't know every model of guitar it's on, but it's on my sister's Epiphone Spotlight CMT

I just went back to look again, yeah those are waaaay off. Too bad man, you just have NO luck with guitars. First the EC-1000s, now the Carvins! You should just buy your guitars from me...I turn around and sell them every six months!

Carvin does not dye it's Ebony boards.
Couple of mine have the little blonde streaks going through it.
I like it.
Adds character.

I measured them and they seem to be centered, weird.

You better believe it. I got it from the salvation army. BUT it's comfy AND clean! I'm a college student so I'm not gonna complain. I love my ugly furniture. I got offered a nice green leather one once but it reeked of cat piss so I passed on that one.

I'd like my ebony as dark possible. Even Rosewoods I prefer a darker look...

i dunno X...of course it's all up to you...it's hard to tell what it really looks like from pictures...i saw a guitar a couple of days ago with a huge yellow streak running through an ebony board...i mean huge...yuck...but yours seems to be subtle enought to just add character to it...i'm sorry you have had so much trouble with your guitars man...it seems you can't win for losing!?

Whatever you do, do nothing for at least a few months. If after that you want it dyed then consider it. It is easy to rush into something like that and egret it after.

For what its worth i kind of like it like how it is, and i have seen a number of expensive acoustic guitars (over $2500) where the ebony hasnt been dyed that have looked very similar to your guitar.

It's a very nice looking piece of wood, but if it doesn't help the overall looks of the guitar, maybe you should dye it. Your call, though.

those new pics are worse looking, it looks like the fingerboard had been sitting in a damp barn for 30 years, or drug down a dirt road..... i dont like it

That's not a bad looking piece of wood. In fact I think it looks quite nice. I agree, wait a couple weeks.
