Am I the only one that wants an Excelsior head?

I freakin love my Fender Excelsior and I have heard little negative feedback from other owners. I would love for Fender to make a head version of the amp. 13 watts would be cool but if they could beef it up to 50 watts with the same tone stack and response I would be in gear heaven. My 13 watter sound great with a 4x12 extension cab I can only imagine what a big boy version would be like.

I've been curious about several of their retro-looking models. They look great, and they're CHEAP! But alas... I'm a head/cab guy and really don't care for the total lack of bottom-end thump that most combos provide. Only combo that I've owned in recent memory that had enough depth for me was the Fender TRRI that I had. But that pig needed wheels and a motor to move!

I dunno, half the interest in the Excelsior tone is that 15in speaker. I'd like to see a head/cab with either a 15 or 2x10s in the cab....and an fx loop on there.

I dig my antique blush Excelsior Pro combo. The two things that make an Excelsior much better are an Eminence Legend 1518 and the BillM tone control mod. Now, I have a useable EQ knob, and it pulls up to bypass the EQ section, going straight to raw 6V6 power.

A head version would be cool, but they'd have to use the same art deco design, much like the Bogner Mephisto head.

I could probably be persuaded to buy an Excelsior head....no other changes necessary except for a tone pot in place of the 2-pos. switch

You obviously haven't played one with a Legend 1518, then! It thumps big time.

I have always wished that Fender would have offered all their amps as a head.
Think how many Princeton and Dlx Rev heads that could have sold...not to mention all those Tweed Amps..!

Man I was thinking the new Fender 68 custom reissue Princeton with a 15 like the excelsior. shoving it together in a mojotone cab. I watched Gearmandude mod his blues jr? into a larger cab and it looked and sounded pretty good for a sweet practice rig or porch jamming rig with the bro's

You are right a lot of the mojho comes from the 15 but when I plug it into a 4x12 or my 2x10 cab the thing continues to be so full of vibe. That amp into a 4x12 with a decent fuzz is a dream.
