it's seems to me to be a fair BIN price .. i wish you the best in selling it ..
the problem might turn out to be that you turned it into a 'players' guitar ... suited for someone who wants exactly that guitar in a higher performing model than stock ... as you set it up, it is a way better deal than a $400 new guitar or even a $400 used guitar at a shop ... you'll have to hope that someone sees it for what it is
fwiw, if it had a JB/HR/HR i bet it'd sell on here pretty quick

Yeah, you're asking too much. You're charging more than the guitar costs new and that's what people see. I know you probably put $200 in upgrades on it....but from my experience upgrades dont' bring any extra money to a deal. You would have been better off putting the stock stuff back in then selling it cheaper followed by selling the upgraded parts separately.
This has been my experience on Ebay and classifieds time and time again.

I don't doubt that it's worth what you're asking, but that doesn't change that people will see it as a cheap guitar.

Not to get pickey, but that is a $400 guitar brand new. Secondly, there is closer to $400 in upgrades in it. That's why I said that I have $800 invested in it.

yeah, like i was trying to say ... compared to the same guitar new at $400, it is a way better guitar (tuners/pots/etc) for someone who wants those exact pickups ... guys buy an inexpensive axe often because they want to put THEIR favorite pickups in it ... should be interesting to see what you get for it ... you might have better luck selling it to a local musician who understands and appreciates exactly what he's getting ... ebayers are notoriously bargain hunters and i am not sure this comes across as a bargain ... more of a higher quality, niche item ...
i know i had to be prepared to lose resale value when i upgraded my ibanez's ... i wont be selling them though now that i have them just like i want them ...

He said $150 or so. I only paid $50 for the guitar, but I also put $400 or more into upgrades. I'm sure I could sell it for a lot more on here (well, maybe not after saying what he would sell it for), and that might be your best bet. But if you want to try E-bay again, I'd suggest setting the reserve at $400 and putting the starting bid kind of low (>$100). Good luck with it all.

My advice would be if you still have 'em to put the original parts (except the nut) back on and then sell the parts separately. That'll maximize the $$$ you get out of it.
That's why I advise folks not to do a lot of upgrades on inexpensive guitars. It's darn near impossible to get your money out of a majorly upgraded instrument.marty_the_westie said:

Upgrades will increase the chance someone will choose your guitar over stock. They don’t add much to the sales price (regardless of how much you’ve invested).
Typical eBay price is 70% of best new price (not list) for a guitar in “like new” condition
(i.e. if new price $400.00 x .7 = $280 eBay price + s/h).

Well to be honest, I'm all for upgrading cheaper guitars....I do it myself alot, however, I know that I'm going to get completely raped if I decide to sell...that's why I make sure they are keepers.

Once I've upgraded a guitar, I resign myself to the fact that if I ever need to sell it, it won't be worth it. Fortunately, the only guitar I've ever sold was all stock.
I just bought a US Strat with a bunch of after-market enhancements (last one in sig) for an amazing bargain. It was a trade-in, and the reason it was so cheap is the store doesn't consider after-market enhancements when they price used gear. I bet the guy who traded it was pretty pissed, but that's the way things are. He should have pulled those pickups out, sold them on EBay, and put the stock pups back in for his trade-in.

On a used instrument the return on investment for upgrades is generally 1/2 to 1/3 of what you have paid for the upgraded item (cost of installation included).
The caveat is that you'll hit cieling at around the cost of the guitar new.
You're asking too much. At best you should be asking just slightly under what it would cost new.
If you don't like that then I would suggest removing the upgrades and selling it all of separately.

I had originally planned on keeping this guitar for a very long time, but not too long after I got it and did all the upgrades, I got a good deal on a 1260 prestige, which is almost exactly the same, except for bigger frets and mahogany instead of ash. Thing is, I like the feel of the prestige so much better, and not to mention that I put a Paf Pro in the prestige, which I like a lot better than the Virtual Paf. I'm not sure if I'm going to relist it. I have far too much money in this to give away. Foolishly, I sold the original parts, so I cannot even piece it out. Live and learn I guess. All seriousness though, that guitar is a real player, and will absolutely destroy any other Korean import in tone and playability.

Let this be a lesson to you....
Always retain the original parts on an instrument. No matter how cheap or useless you think they are if you ever need to return the item to stock for whatever reason you have the elements to be able to do that.
If you needed to unload the instrument I would suggest replacing the top-notch components cheap ones or very-near original ones (someone else must be making the same mistake you have) and unloading it all.
You're going to lose some money on it....but that should minimize much of it.

Your right on about that. I think I only got around $50 for the old parts on Ebay, which now I wish I had to put back on. Live and learn!!
