amazing new tone and sound!!!!

Hi I just wanted to say I have finally found an amazing tone and sound through my Kustom hybrid amp! lol
I put a JJ 12ax7 preamp tube in this amp and put a JJ 12au7 tube in my Behringer vintage Monster tube OD pedal VT999 and the combination of the light gained JJ12ax7 amp tube and the lighter 12au7 pedal tube makes a really sweet sounding combination. When playing cleaner its really warm sounding,but when I use more gain its a nice driving hard gain but not fizzy really crunchy but still smooth and clear its freakin awesome!!!! I had to let everyone know lol.

And I also tamed down my JB and Jazz pickups to help with the output and sound by lowering them down low and rasied the poles up a tad. Simply amazing to me.

Bought a HV65 when they first came out and sold it last fall not because there was anything wrong with it. It just started to bore me.. [2008 to 2014] It had a factory installed Celestion- something close to a lead 80 I think. Not good and not bad. Overall, It was a well designed and solid amp. A tube change made the amp come alive......

Small changes can bring wonders.

Mine is a Kustom PH TUBE 12 its a brand new series they just came out with at 2014 NAMM winter show. Its a 12 watt tube hybrid amp. It has a JJ 12ax7 in the preamp circuit with a ss power section.However, the SS power section has a tube emulation circuit built in it as well so it sounds like tube all around pretty damn close to me. It also has a 12" speaker in a closed back cab. Very simple amp a gain/master volume/bass/treble and then a gain push switch. Ports for mp3 players and headphones. It also takes a nice OD pedal to boost it in the front of it. This is where my Behringer vintage monster tube OD pedal comes in nicely it also has a tube in the pedal I use the JJ 12 au7 here and it compliments the 12ax7 in the amp nicely. Tube screamers work nice with it as well.

JB pickups are particular about where they sit under the strings

Too high or low and they suk

But when you find that sweet spot

yeah I have my JB on the lower side but I do believe its in the SWEET SPOT!!
