AMAZING! Schecter V-1 Custom Flame Top in Trans Purple w/ Case!

Re: AMAZING! Schecter V-1 Custom Flame Top in Trans Purple w/ Case!

Is that the SGR-8V case?

Also, have you had a chance to play this? How would you characterize the pups? Are they equivalent to anything in the Duncan line?

Inquiring minds want to know. :)

Hi Artie!

Quick note - your inbox appears to be full. I tried to PM you, but my message wouldn't go through. :)

To answer your questions...

Yes, the case is the SGR-8V locking hard case ($130 value), which is a perfect fit for the guitar and has the "Schecter Guitar Research" logo molded on the outside.

The Pasadena and Pasadena Plus pickups are pretty unique. Comparing them to the Duncan line, I'd say they remind me of a warmer/beefier Custom 5 and '59 set. Definitely good for Rock n' Roll, Blues and some metal. Plus, they clean up really well.

Despite the tuning, this video does a decent job of showing what the bridge pickup sounds like driven and just happens to be in a nearly identical V-1 Custom:

The first half of this video does a nice job of showing what the same pickups sound like on cleaner settings (I'm not a fan of his drive tone in the second half):

And this video shows a wider range of tones that can be had from these same pickups, although his recording doesn't capture the fullness of them very well:
