American Special HH Floyd Strat

I am thinking Custom Custom Trembucker vs Blues Trembucker for bridge and
'59 Neck.
My idea of cool tone is EVH 1984 and Fair Warnin.

Which would you use ?.

I would go with the Alnico II Pro neck/CC bridge.

i own the same guitar as you but in HSS configuration and i have tried the CC(also c5, tone zone, currently the JB).....and my major complain about it was the lack of bass. The CC isn't very good in the bass department....things get even worst if you use it in a guitar with a floyd which is very good at dampening bass frequencies.....I am not very sure if that would suit your needs well but i would also take a look at the JB..........

The thing I do not like about the Custom and Custom 5 is the Lack of Mids.

Go with the Blues Trembucker/Alnico 2 Pro set. I had that set in my Wolfgang for a while and I really liked it. I would stay away from the Custom Custom, I found it to have too much midrange and no low end.

The JB was definately an improvement for my needs over the CC. I agree with you about the C5 lacking mids......the JB has enough mids and has a better bass responce than the CC. I cannot say i am 100% happy with the JB( sometimes that migh mid spike of the JB is annoying) but to my needs it is an improvement over the CC. I have never tried the blues trembucker.

If you are worried about lack of bass, the Blues would be my first choice followed by the Custom.

If you really want the early VH sound, spend the extra money on the EVH/78 and make sure your Floyd isn't floating
