i'm new to this forum, but what i wanted to know is:

the amp i'm buying is a 100watt solid state amp, it has an input for a mic and i wanted to know that if i played through the amp on guitar and ran a mic through at the same time, loud enoughf to be heard on stage with the drums, would that be ok for the amp.

It will sound like sh*t. Guitar speakers can't reproduce the full range you need for vocals. The feed back from a live mic could damage speakers but the amp itself should be fine unless you let it whistle(feedback) for extended periods.

Yeah, hit the nail right on the head there, the vocals will sound lousy, need p.a or summit, and with split volume, i doubt it will be nearly as loud as needed.
