Amp for early Megadeth tone for around $700-$800

Re: Amp for early Megadeth tone for around $700-$800

I would think that a DSL should be able to get you there. They are not expensive, have a good reputation and can do classic Marshall tones up to higher gain stuff. This is only what I have hard, I haven't actually played one.

I had my lead 12 out and did a quick mega-test. I think it's a bit more like the "so far so good...so what" sound so I used one of those riffs. Didn't spend a lot of time on it but gives you an idear.

Edit - listened again through headphones and decided it's not really close, lol. Maybe with some eq-ing.

It ain't too far away either though...not a bad starting point.

But given his situation, even the small one would be too loud. Although you are correct.

I'd check out the new Panama Fuego 15 in a 1x12 or 2x12 cab.. That little amp is in your price point and will nail the sounds you're wanting..
They sound as well as amps costing twice as much..

Have you tried one yet? I know you've been drooling over them so I have a feeling this is a little biased

No, I have not tried one yet and yes, I am lusting over them. I know that the clips I have heard these are what he is talking about. I hope to have one by summer, I am working OT and saving my pennies for a Shaman or a Fuego. I think they are both pretty badass little amps..
