the classic 30 is a 30 watt amp. it has 1 12 inch speaker. the classic 50 has 50 watts and has 2 12 inch speakers. you can also get the classic 50 with 4 10 inch speakers. the classic 30 would be a great choice for you and the rick. it has good cleans and vintage distortion. the classic 50 is not nessecary unless you are playing live shows.

so there aren´t any differences in sound? i need it for live shows too, so a 50 would be a better choice.

ive tried one and it sounded really good, but the volume was strange, compared to other tubes, but maybe it was just a bad store with broken amps

In the Peavey lineup there is also the Delta Blues. The head is similiar but it has tremelo. The biggest difference is it has a 15 inch speaker so you can get some thudding lows. The weakest link in a Classic 30 is the speaker, lots of guys here locally use them and switch out the speaker for a greenback and mic it at gigs.

I'd also recommend trying to look up a Dr. Z they have a Vox meets Marshall kind of tonality. Mine sounds good with buckers or singles.

vox ac-30 or a bassman...those are the ric mates!!!

so anything that sounds like those will work if your not up to getting the real deal?!

I would say something along the lines of a Vox or a Blackface Fender. BTW, Framus makes a 2x12 Class A amp, IIRC. That might be a good choice if you can find one for a reasonable price.

are they already available? whats the difference to the old model from england?

The Laney VC30 is an EL 84 based amp, self-biased like the VOX. An amp with a good clean, bright tone or bright switch works well. Compression really help my 360 sound it's best.
