Hey guys,

Let's all get depressed and say what amps we desperately want but can't afford. Yay! Lol.

I'll go first ion no particular order (these are all amps I would/could use in my current situation hence no Pittbull UL or Bogner XTC for now. Lol)-

Re: Amp GASing?

From what I've read about it, I'm GAS'ing for a VHT Sig:X. I'm a sucker for versatile, great-sounding amps that clean up really well when I use a lighter touch.

Much closer to my budget, I also have GAS for a Peavey Penta head. Those are pretty reasonable on the used market. And I have the matching cab already.

A friend of mine is going to buy 1 if he can't find a used Pittbull UL for the same price before his deadline (his deadline may be 1 year though so.... Lol).

These vids are great:

All the VHT hallmarks are there in the amp. It could be the best "bang for the buck" head out there!

Re: Amp GASing?

I'd love to have a Bad Cat Hot Cat, but just don't see it happening anytime in the near future:

An original BF Princeton Reverb:

Blackface Deluxe Reverb:

I've also been gassing for one of those new Egnater Rebel 20's lately, but I think that's a novelty thing that'll probably wear off in a month or two. It'd be neat to check it out though, especially the tube blending option:

I've got no buffer money to spend on an amp right now so these are all out of my range obviously, but I SERIOUSLY want a new amp... This thread depresses me!

Re: Amp GASing?

well...i give about a 0% chance i'll ever own one of those "dream amps"...

realistically speaking...the next amp i get is probably this...

I'll own them, but I hate to think what I'd do to get the money! Lol.

Of course, the majority of people wont ever afford the gear they want (unless your name is GearJoneser. Lol).

I have even more GAS, I could easily add a Tony Bruno Cow Tipper Pro II 35, Pony 50 & Tweedy Pie 45 to the list!

I like the Divided by 13 EDT 13/29 combo specs too.

Re: Amp GASing?

I am very happy with the amps I have. No need to go out and buy anything else, but that doesn't mean I won't.

Here is what I have

1. 68' Super Reverb. Pretty clean but I really haven't used it much in the last few years. I've owned it for a long time and it was my main amp for years. I am planning on taking it in and having some work done on it. It needs to be retubed and a few other minor issues. Great amp and I will probably never sell it.

2. Deluxe Reverb... 1967 I like it for rehearsals because its small and not too loud, but it sounds good. I plan on changing the speaker to a G12H30 down the road.

3. Marshall 900. I used this the last few years on all the gigs I did. Its a 50W combo and its easy to move and sounds pretty good. The effects loop is tolerable, but newer amps tend to have a better loop.

4. Bogner Shiva 1 12" EL34 combo. Great amp and I love it. The Clean channel on this amp is as good as any Fender I have ever heard. The drive has a tad to much midrange, but I have learned how to deal with it.

5. Komet 60. The Komet is the most articulate amp and the most touch sensitive amp I have ever played through. I have a Marshall 4 12" with greenbacks hooked up to it and it sounds awesome. One of, if not the best amp I have ever played through.

Re: Amp GASing?

I'd love a Bognor XTC.... and although I still have my Cornford MK50H, when finances are better I'll get A Cornford MK50 II to replace the Hellcat I just sold. Being the UK I'd have to consider service back up and cost... hence I don't think I'll EVER get an XTC.

Re: Amp GASing?

I think I want Bludave's amp collection. :)

I'd be quite into one of these as well:

And of course there's the Trainwreck, which I'd use for my high-gain tones.

You call that an amp collection?

Pfft.
