amp is way too quiet

some of my friends gave me an old fender stage 100.

obviously, this is not a great amp, but it would definitely be nice to use as a bedroom amp (the effects loop is a bonus). certainly not worth taking into the shop.

so the problem i'm having with it is that its really quiet. the volume is maxed on it, yet hardly anything is coming through (if i have music playing in the other room, the amp is pretty much drowned out).

when my friends gave it to me, they mentioned that they thought there was an issue with the speaker. given that, i tried a different speaker, but got the same result.

i'm just wondering if there's anything i should look for that i may be able to fix myself. any ideas are certainly welcome.

hmm.... i have a 5 year old Stage 100DSP head and thru my Marshall cab it is extremely loud....

something is not quite right about that amp.. besides making sure the speaker wires are still attached i don't think there is much to look for besides opening it up... that i would leave it to a tech.... It may not be an expensive fix to have a tech look at it... i just had my 12 year old Fender Ultimate Chorus amp in for shorting out issues and it cost me $60....
