Amp question about standby switch/Marshall

Does anyone know what it means when you power down by using the standby switch and still get a signal for about 10-15 seconds. Thanks! Mike

I know what you're talkign about... it's completely normal but I don't know what the mechanical/electronic event is that causes that.

It's those capacitors that keep giving the amp power after the power is off standby on, but the sound will disappear when those capacitors are empty.

If I shutoff the switches backwards it gives me a drawn out signal. Also if turned on with the standby in the "off" position it kinda fades into sound.

Not sure if that is the issue Mike.

My Marshall goes on for about 10-15 seconds until it fades out. My Mesa goes off right away. Mabey it's just two different animals?
