Amp tech help Please

Last night my Peavey Classic 30 made a loud thump/fart sound when I turned it off. It was on low volume in the normal mode. It has never done this before. It did it with the guitar pugged and unplugged as well as with my 2x12 cab plugged and unplugged It was much louder with the cab plugged in. It seamed to happen after the lights went out in the tubes, not when I first hit the switch.

Thanks for your help.

Lou

Re: Amp tech help Please

Mine has always done this. I have noticed it happens if I turn it off after playing after a short period (about 15 minutes), versus playing/practicing for an hour+ no pop. I figured my amp was telling me it wants to be used for a good long while and didn't like 'quickies' :laugh2: .

Decided that if I may get interruptted at home while playing I'll use my solid state practice amp.

It was on for a few hours. It has never done that before no matter how I used it. This was LOUD I know what your talking about My Classic 50 did that.

Re: Amp tech help Please

Sweet_Lou, I cant help you on this matter, but you should visit "www.ampage.org" and post this on the Guitar Amps section, under "Repair and Maintenance" or "General Discussions". Lots of great help there and friendly people.
