Amp/Tube issues...

I'm getting a nasty crackle, volume drop, and other unpleasant noises when I've been playing latley. I narrowed things down to the amplifier itself. I think one of the power tubes is vibrating out of it's socket or becoming loose, because when i wiggle one tube imparticular it plays fine for about 5 min. then the cycle continues.

Mesa Single Rect. Series 1
Power tubes are under a year old and are JJ 6L6's
Pre-amp tubes are also under a year old and are Electro-Harmonix 12AX7's

The "rustling"/"windy"/"scratchy" sounds are more than likely coming from a nasty pre amp tube. If your power tubes are having a hard time staying in the sockets you can try pinching the tube clamps together a little to allow for a more snug fit. If that doesnt help you can buy tube holders that will screw in the place of the current clamps. You might want to replace the power tubes IF the amp still seems to feel weak and less powerful. If it is not a tube issue one of the other really smart guys here can give you better ideas too.
