This is a device I picked up last year. Maybe you have one, but for those who don't I recommend them. They are handy for practising if you don't want to use your big amp. If you don't want to make a lot of noise. For such a small little amp that plugs right into your guitar, I was impressed with how much sound it puts out. It has a headphone jack and an Mp3 as well, it even has distortion that works descent. I use it quite often. Runs off a 9v battery and lasts for hours of play when the sound starts getting mushy then its time to change the battery.;)

I want a Yamaha THR10X. Runs on AC power or batteries, has killer sound with built-in effects and there's an optional carry case available for it:

That plug and play looks like a handy deal! There are so many cool little devices out there. They just keep getting better and better. However, some of the original mini things were pretty darn cool too.

I've always loved little amps like that. Trying to remember all the ones I've had over the years. First one was in the mid 70's. It was a 3" x 6" metal box with speaker, input and one volume. It actually sounded pretty darn good! Next was a Rock amp....a small yet powerful little amp built with a very nice wood enclosure. The clean tone was very nice, but it really lived up to it's name with a great ZZ Type drive tone. It could be ran into a bigger amp too. Next was a Rockman.......which I just sold last year! Out of all the various little amps and practice devices I've had, (managing a few music stores provided some nice perks!) I still have a Behringer V-Amp ll, (it has some stellar settings) a Boss digital recorder with amps models/effects/etc, a Korg Pandora, little Korg PX-4 recorder with some great tones, a 30 watt Crate Taxi that sounds great and is much louder (I actually played a gig with it!) that one would think. I picked up a mint Roland Street Cube for $100 a few months ago that is just an amazing little amp!

I just use a POD. I never liked the sound of portable amps. I think a digital interface is the way to go if you're a bedroom guitarist.

Those Cube amps are a great little amp. Another very nice mini amp is the Vox Rhythm 5. Which I am seriously looking at.

Back in the 80's I had a Rockman, the second version as I recall. Back in '05 when I started playing again, the first amp I got was a Roland Microcube. Still have it. No longer have the Rockman, it's somewhere in England with my Carvin V220.

I was at my local shop today ran into a friendly guy we started chatting. He saw me looking at amplifiers the mini ones. He pointed out to me this amp. He mentioned to me he had 5 amps, but said if I was looking for a small amp this has incredible sound showed me all the features and explained everything about this amp to me. So i'm going to go back with my guitar and check it out. I have watched the demos on the internet impressive.

Both should be sent to me... Immediately!! Love em both!!

I love my rockman, but something is lose and if the cable shifts, makes an awful noise..

Re: Amp U Plug N PLay

Those things are great, I need to find mine. I have the Classic Rock (Marshall) one, and it sounds way better than it should.
I just got the Night Train. I think the classic rock one probably sounds a little better, but for $19.95 I couldn't pass it up!

I love my V-Amp. Currently playing it into either my headphones, a cheap Fender Frontman, or a little Peavey practice amp I borrowed. My neighbour has a nice tube amp (60W Custom), though, and he and I jam together a lot, so I get to play through it. We both love the V Amp though.

Well I went back to check out this amp. It was ok but not as good as I expected it to be and at $400 stroked it off my list. When I am ready I will look at the Vox Rythem5 and the Cube Gx.

Re: Amp U Plug N PLay

Tried out the Cube 10 GX mini amp yesterday. Nice small amp good crunch and clean tones, has reverb, chorus. Overall was happy with it. I would rate it at 4 out of 5 stars. Still waiting to play the Vox Rhythm 5 have to travel to another shop to find one then I will make my final decision.

Re: Amp U Plug N PLay

Well I finally picked up a Vox mini Rhythm 5. I have to tell you I am very impressed with the quality of sounds that come from this little beauty. One of the best purchases I have ever made. Anyone looking for a busker amp or for practice look no further. The 3 way switch for 1 watt 3 or 5 is a nice feature if you are looking for low volume with good sound 1 watt is well with good sound. Switch it up to 5 watts plenty of blast. It has so many features to give all the details Flanger ,Chorus, Drum beats and much much more . If your looking for a small light amp about 71/2 Lbs great sounds plenty of punch plus runs on battery power as well its worth looking at. I give it 5 Stars. I can see why it has rave reviews.
