Ampeg bass cab conversion

Re: Ampeg bass cab conversion

The practice was canceled yesterday due to our drummer injuring his leg, so I haven't heard Mike through the rig yet. I did give it a run with my Micro Terror cranked to listen for phasing and cabinet noise. The cab sounds like a beast for guitar. Rhythms were chunky and dark but very clear, not muddy in any way. It was very enjoyable to play through. I spent a good amount of time riffing on it. My leads didn't have a lot of bite through the cab, but I could see this cab shining for the right guitarist on in the right studio situation. I would love to play some of my rhythm parts through this in the studio next month. I think it is going to sound great with Mike playing through it; it will take me another week to see if that is true.

We finally practiced after 3 long weeks off. After playing the cab Mike asked me to sell it to him. His comments were it was much warmer and deeper than his Eden 4x10 cab. I found the sound to be less harsh than the 4x10 cab especially with distortion. The vibe of the classic cab and head combo looks very cool. The new Pulse is a very nice sounding speaker.

Excellent, that's some serious cab if he likes it more than the Eden cab which is an awesome piece of kit. You done good
