Ampeg VL 1002 Lee Jackson design

I own one and like it very mucho , for metal , and clean as well , with EH 6CA7
power tubes .
Who experienced it and how do you compare with more trendy models like Mesa , etc ?

Yes , not a very popular model though it is
Very Loud 100 watt and 2 channels :VL 1002 .

I've owned the 3-channel combo version for years and always considered it useless for anything but clean tones, but heck, maybe it's been broken all this time. Do you have any high gain audio clips I can compare to?

I used to use one... I particularly liked being able to "lock" it live....

But at some point i grew out of it...
