Amplifier GAS Picture Thread.

Re: Amplifier GAS Picture Thread.

Man I visited Savage Audio (the guys who hand make Savage amps) and this isn't even all of them, the guy has the largest collection of mint vintage amps I've ever seen.

The crazy thing is that my dad went to electronics school with the dude.

Hi, and welcome to 2006, where you don't need a guitar amp to play electric guitar! :)

did anyone else notice that the guitars in the background have the neck protruding from the wrong end?

and RD, what makes the pod contraptions any less of an amp? does it not boost (amplify) the signal to a useable level? much like an amplifier (something that amplifies)? hmmmm?

Yeah, I noticed that too ... neat idea, but too insane to actually own.

My definition of an amp is something that takes a high impedence guitar signal and returns a low impedence speaker signal. You can't plug a POD into a speaker cab.

Re: Amplifier GAS Picture Thread.

All of those large collections of vintage amps stored in garages are one of the reasons they're so damn expensive. Surely they could afford to give me just one!

To the guy who asked about the messed up axes behind the amps, those are Dewey Decibel's Flipout guitars. Only place I've seen them was at Boston Guitar (where this pic is from).
