Amplifier Jewel Lights?

What is a good source for replacement jewel lights for amps, and off hand does anyone know what type is used on Splawn amps? It's a larger plate but a real small light, maybe the size of a 5mm LED. (Not like a typical Fender style jewel) I'd like a blue one, I think it would look nice with the new color scheme.

Re: Amplifier Jewel Lights?

The only one's I'm aware of is the Fender bayonet style. The jewels are available in many colors. Most good amp part vendors have em'

Here is a pic of the light. Muttonchops, is that the same type in the link as this one?

You can tell Splawns are great when the only modification you want to make is the jewel light lens mod!

hmmm, that's a bit of a tough one. hard to tell without looking at it, as i'm not super familiar with splawns.

does the receptacle look like the one in the pic if you were to unscrew the cover? of so then a typical fender style lamp should fit on there. if not, it could be something harder to come by. hope that helps :)

Re: Amplifier Jewel Lights?

Well, I found one that looks just like yours from the outside but it's amber: http://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/item.asp?pid=17988&pg=44997&id=8280110 It would be mighty important to verify what voltage is going through it if you're doing anything other than change out the lens. In fact, it'd be helpful to know what it looks like inside and what powers it just to replace the lens.

Here's a red version of the 120 volt pilot light for comparison if you scroll down a bit http://www.hoffmanamps.com/MyStore/...spage&thispage=parts20.htm&ORDER_ID=436317229 I could be off on a wild goose chase. OTOH it might help...

Thanks guys, that mojo amps when looks right, but like you said, definately need to verify voltage first. Maybe I'll give Scott a call at Splawn to see what he actually uses.

Too bad it's not a fender style, so easy to change. ;)

Do the older Marshalls use a 120V pilot lamp like the above ones? If so, that would make sense that Splawn would use them since they are based on Marshall archetecture.
