Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

When it comes to amps are you looking for a long term relationship? OR Do you just want to try them all once before you die?

What about the arranged relationship? If you we're prearranged to marry a JTM45 could you make it work for life? or would you eventually dump the JTM for a Super Reverb or Bogner or Soldano?

If your amp lets you down, are you willing to work through the problems or is it out the door?

Is there one amp out there that could satisfy all your amplification needs? is it real? Does it really exist? Is it a mirage? Are you chasing the vapor of dream?

Do all your amplification needs require a harem of more than 2 amps in your tent? Are you Angus Young and do you have a stock of hundreds of extra back home for spares?

i'm married to my Twin for a variety of reasons. It could be used for anything and everything i would need to do.

That said, i'm on the lookout for a cheap el34 amp for fun. I don't need it but i might get one. Still haven't decided

I am always the BIG mouth that is saying i will spend much more money on an amp than any guitar . . .

So, with that in mind, i am the marry-type !!!

I like to think i but amps for life !
I might mod them slightly, but the basic amp will be there right till the end !

my laney is just a temporary amp, till i get the MatAmp LX ... but i'm in no hurry what so ever. i love this amp

Some I marry and some I date. But, I suppose if the right deal came along on something that made a better spouse I might change. Especially as there is no division of property with the amp marriages.

It seems like I'm married to my TSL... but... I'll eventually dump it for a vintage buzzsaw solid state amp... wahwhehheheheh... ok no...

I'd like to have a huge collection of different amps to keep them all... I think I just like the idea of having some kind of harem.

Mine will be an arranged marriage. It's almost in the mail, and I've never met it yet. We met on the internet.

I tend to get comfortable with my amps. I have had my Super Reverb for over 15 years. I also have a Deluxe Reverb now about 3 years. I have a Marshall 900 50W combo over 10 years and this year I bought a Bogner Shiva.

Each of these amps do certain things really well and others not so well. For a long time I was A/B'ing my Super Reverb with my Marshall and for the most part it did everything I needed. Since I bought the Bogner I use my Fenders less and less. The cleans on the Bogners are incredibly good, but for certain things I like the gainb out of MArshall a little better than the Bogner.

Me and the Krank tied the knot a long time ago. I've still got my mistress, a fender showman reverb, on the side though. I've been seeing a hughes & kettner Edition tube 20 recently, though I'm not sure how much longer that'll work out.

I'm gonna see if I can't get my old lady into a threesome with a dual recto pretty soon though.

I'm good to go with a few amps. I love my Marshall MkIII and once that is up and running again, it will be used. I also love the Vox AD50VT I'm using now. The tones I can get out of it are very inspiring. Then there's the little Marshall, the Lead 12 combo. It's my backup amp and has no problem keeping up in a band setting through a 4x12, surprisingly enough.

I'm a polygamist. I date to find the good amps and then marry them. I have to admit that I'm quite inexperienced... I have many amps to try, if only they let me. I really like my Koch Twintone II though. It fills the most of my needs. But like in every relationship, one always yearns for more. After the honeymoon is over and the newfound attractment is over, the grass often seems more green over the fence. So one goes around and around. It's a plus if you always have someone to return to, even more if you have more than one.

i too am a polygamist. i like the amps i have:
musicmaster bass revoiced to sound better for guitar with lots of clean headroom (for a 15w amp anyway)
blues jr modded for a fatter tone
celtic aislynn 6v6 running a 5v4 recto
celtic aislynn 6l6
fender deluxe reverb

but the deluxe reverb and aislynn 6l6 need a little plastic surgery but they are keepers for sure. the 6v6 and mm bass arent going anywhere and are perfect just the way they are. the blues jr may be up for divorce before too long, its not that the magic isnt there anymore but weve been togeather for a long time and i feel someone else might take her out more and treat her better than i do, cause i basically ignore her.

i still am always on the look for a new wife but im spoiled so they have to really impress me before they get the ring

were going out, things are going pretty good, the last boyfreind she had didnt treat her very well (he was in a hardcore band ...ugggh) . its great, shes as horny as me, cant wait to be played with first thing in the morning, she says to me "twidle my knobs, make me scream joey, ohh yeahh, plug into my input"
