Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

If I plug a cheap EPI Les Paul into a Boogie Lonestar and bend a single string/note, then everyone in the immediate surrounding will stop whatever it is they're doing! It's sound goes to the core of my being. Apparently it has the same effect on others as well! LOL!

I'm not ruling other amps out. But if I had a Lonestar then it would be quite awhile before I started looking around for alternatives.

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

I met mine on the internet, but it's long term. She's going under the knife again soon, and I'm certain she will return PERFECT. Pretty darn close already....

BTW, where do you keep 16 amps? I have trouble finding a place to put ONE (well, okay, one guitar amp, one bass combo, and a keyboard amp that stays under the k/b).

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

I'd like to get an soldano SLO-100 with a G-flex 2x12 eventually.

I'm in no rush to change my setup though, this works just fine.

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

Was just dating, traded her in for a newer model for about a month, and then got back with her and promptly tied the knot. I don't think I could ever leave my 5150 now, but I can definitely forsee bringing a mistress or two into the fray. Maybe she'd go for a little threesome with Ms. ENGL...

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

One is about 20 years older than me that my Grandmother hooked me up with, and the other two I met up with by a mutual friend, he'd been married to both of them....well only married to one, the other was just a live in.

I'm looking for another here in the next year, something old school possibly.

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

I'm monogamous with the Bogner EL-34 Shiva w/ Reverb. Nothing makes me smile like that amp.

Now, if I ever come across enough money to afford others, I'd probably spring for a Savage Blitz 50 (the first amp I've ever played that absolutely blew me away from the first note). It'd be nice to have a JMI AC-30 as well. Everybody needs a killer lead amp, so a Suhr OD-100 Classic w/ EL-34s would be nice and an Orange for some of that quality indie rock stuff and... and... and...

i've been dating seriously for about a year...and while i love her dearly...i can't help but wonder how much i would love a few others that i have my eye on that have a bit more junk in da trunk?!?!?! :27: :27: :27:

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

I'm married to the Celtic Edana....it's the one amp I'll always keep.

I'm quite fond of the Tophat King Royale & currently have the 2 of them A/B'd for that classic Marshal meets Vox sound :bigok:

The Tophat Emplexador is a fine date & is a wild ride for that on the side squeeze :D

And my lil' Fuchs ODS Custom-20 head might be finding a new home...a 1x12 combo cab for that grab & go package.

I have too many different tastes to settle down with one....but if I had to choose 1 amp & 1 guitar, it would be the Edana & Firebird combo. They're my keepers :bigok:

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

I got my Boogie, that everyone knows about, we got out all the time.

Then I have this little tiny dano amp I keep in a drawer.

And a old amp chassis, I keep locked in my shop, dismembered...

I don't like this analogy any more...

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

I must be kinda kinky . . . I like plugging my jacks into two amps at the same time . . .

Re: Amps: Are you looking to get married or are you just dating?

Polygamist here---I am married to my 3 tweeds for life. My kids get them after me...

Heads stack very nicely, I have them in constant rotatation, so I gig em all... I am addicted to tones vs tone. So each amp provides its own source of inspiration... All vintage, 72 on down to 63.
