Amps to stay away from

Re: Amps to stay away from

Can't tell you about reliability, but I know I would have been very happy with a Legacy when I was a teenage shred kid. Nice amps for your style.

I know some peavey classic users, and the reliability seems good.

A friend of mine had one just like it that he threw off the roof of his house, set it on fire, then tied it to the bumper of his car and dragged it down the street for about half a mile. He brought it inside, re-connected the speaker wire that had come loose and it fired right up and worked just like it always did, it just looked alot worse. .

How reliable is the classic 30?

I've got a friend whose been using one for five or six years now and it still works great. Amps are finicky things, nothing is fool proof - tubes go (that's not necessarily an "amp" issue), speakers go and sometimes the electronics just take a dump. I think the simpler an amp is the less likely your going to be to have a problem with it, but that's just my opinion.
