Re: Amps Without an Effects Loop: Is there a solution?
I am talking about the pure tone of the amp itself (which is why most of us are in constant search of our own personal holy grail of what we think an amp should be)- the circuit path, of ONLY the amp, be it tube or SS. ie: plugged straight into the amp input, without whatever stuff you choose to put in front of or between the pre and power amp . Guitar-amp-speakers.
Jeez, lets get technical!
Tone is in the ear of the beerholder!
Whenever people say things like "pure tone" my eyes start to glaze over. Does that phrase even have any meaning?
Unless you're plugging your guitar straight into a solid state keyboard amp or a pair of top-of-the-line studio monitors, you don't have "pure" tone.
