For direct recording they give a good sound.
I have a Dist Station that I use quite often.
If you plan on usingthem live, get a loop switcher as their impedance does not match up with normal amps, they thin out the sound when used as regular pedals.

They also have some in-built cab modelling which you can't turn off. But they sound pretty good running into clean SS amps too. Dunno about tube amps though.
