An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

JOLLY

Super Simonologist
I had totally even forgotten that I did this. I was looking for some of my CD's and happened to find this. I recorded it probably 5-6 years ago. I have no idea how I came up with the song (if that's what you want to call it) or anything. I do remember though that I had the guitar tuned in some kind of crazy open D. I recorded it with the guitar pictured on the right. It's a Yamaha FGX-412C-12 12 string acoustic/electric. Enjoy!!:)

Said it once and I'll say it again... I like it! Very Richie Sambora!

You done 'ol Hank right proud.
lol.....that ain't country. At least I don't think it is. I don't know what style of music it is. It's just some acoustic stuff.

thanks TheLivingDead.:)

Re: An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

I would say it is in more of a Bon Jovie vein than country. I love that fat twelve string acoustic chime. That sounds great, Jolly! Isn't it crazy how you can stumble into something you did five or six years ago and not really know how you did it?

Re: An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

sounds western at first, then with the octave thing it gets alice in chains sounding :beerchug:

Re: An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

That's a trip yall call it Sambora-ish. I guess I never really looked at it that way since I've never listened to any of his solo work or anything. I guess it could be considered as having that "western type" feel to it or whatever.

Thanks for listening.:)

Re: An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

I thought the intro sounded more like Fleetwood Mac then the rest has some Zep influence. I like it even though it sounds like it belongs in the 70's.

Re: An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

I guess it depends on our ages, lol. I heard Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, and a little Pagey in there. But in the end, it's all Jolly. This would have fit in great on any episode of Firefly. It does have an old west in a modern way sound to it. I love twelve strings with alternate tunings. They sound so big. Nice stuff Jolly, I really enjoyed it.

Re: An Acoustic Song I Recorded A Few Years Ago

Thanks everyone!!:)

I can honestly say that there shouldn't be any Fleetwood Mac influence in there. The only stuff I know by them is what's played on the radio and from my Rumors album I had when I was a kid.
