An all-time favourite as NGD..

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
I was trawling my local Craigslist-type classifieds yesterday when I spotted this elegant beauty or sale ($200 off list price). A short drive later I was on my way home with it for $300 :D

The kid I bought it from had'nt even unboxed it yet...it was still all tagged & taped up/wrapped in a foam bag/it's cardboard box. Said he wanted to learn playing guitar and bought it a few months ago but then changed his mind and bought himself a Uke instead (???) ..anyway, his loss was my gain. I happen to love Sabre's like nothing else out there and fate has decreed that I only have black ones for some reason. All four of mine are black starting with my old MIJ S-540LTD from' 94 which happens to be my all-time favourite. I also have a couple of (colourful) SA's that I love as well..

Anyway..this thing plays like a beast ..really great axe!!! Sounds amazing & shred's like you would expect an S Series to shred.. (ie..insanely :D)

The body is Meranti (first experience with it & no complaints ...sustains for hours/killer tone/overtones...it's fantastic) w/ a rosewood fretboard, Edge Zero II trem & Quantum pup's which I think are excellent sounding stock pup's and I now have in about three other Ibanez's. They probably won't be going anywhere, just need to fine tune their height a bit.

The axe came set up excellently out of the box. I needed to adjust the trem angle a bit & will adjust pup height when I can. Action is low and comfortable, neck's really straight...not a hint of sharp frets/fret buzz at all ..plays like greased lightning....smooth :bigthumb:

trying out the neck pup (ballad) .............got a bit bored/impatient at the end there :p

Anyway ...nice thick/fat/sweet tone that never gets muddy..
