That amp looks insane. Great work!
*Sigh* ... if only I had need of something like this!![]()
Ha, that would require extensive brain surgery.I can give you a need! reform TO!
you are already 3/4 of the way there lineup wise
it can be custom voiced especially for you too!
And thanks!
There isnt a kit.
you have to find all the parts seperately. There are just schematics and a layout file.
Planning all the parts is part of the fun though!
The closest you can get to a kit of this amp is the weber heather which will get you about 50% of the way there but its an insanely hard kit to build and the layout isnt that great and is quite noisy and some of the parts leave a lot to be desired.
It says to buy the parts go to slocloneforums.com, so I am confused. You made the PCB layout and had the board made? From the pictures it appears to be a PCB from sloclone. And the chassis, head cab... what about those?
Thanks
That is super cool, man!
Maybe I missed it in the thread but how much did this cost to make? If you don't mind me asking.
Sorry about the confusion but there is no kit as such. You can buy a few things here and there and then the rest of it you need to figure out/find yourself. There are also a number of errors in the schematic & layouts but if you go ahead with this build i would be glad to point them out to you and guide you through any of the trickier parts
The parts you can get are the PCB's and the layout/schematic from the SLOcloneforums.
The headshell & chassis are from an italian company called Brownsound and the transformers were custom ordered.
Everything else was from tubetown, mouser, farnell, digikey, modulus amplification.
Understood now, thanks for the clarification. If I ever have the time and money for an amp of this nature I would appreciate the help, I'm sure! It's an exquisite project you put together! I'm impressed. But it's not cheap, even for a DIY.
