Hail!
i have a BC Rich NJ Warlock guitar that is a 2001 model which -if i'm not mistaken- has an alder body (and not those chesswood bodies they used later) and i wanna put new pickups on it..... i wanted to use the duncan Invader in the bridge position.... many of my friends recommended it for its high output and its intense bass sound...thing is, i read some posts here regarding this pickup and the reviews were extremely bad without any given reason which kinda puzzled me..........
i usually play extreme metal (ranging from old school and brutal death metal to funeral doom metal) and i use a heavy guage (dean markley's 11's) and tune all the way down to C......... i want a very heavy sound that suits the music i play and does not sound muddy at the same time.... i don't like very bright sounds though....but wouldn't lowering the gain in the case of an invader also kill the sustain??AHHH!!
i have a Behringer V-Ampire amp which i find to be amazing for what i play but is still a solid state amp so EMGs would sound very plastic with it....
regarding the neck pickup i want a pickup that has a bright high output and that won't sound muddy with the heavy guage and low tuning i use....
thanks in advance!!!
