An update on my Fender Showman:

Ya'll may remember me complaining about my Showman Reverb having some buzzy-as-hell reverbage goin on, and not being able to find out what was wrong.

Well, I ended up finding the problem. I had a .003 uF cap that was leaking DC onto the reverb pot. I swapped that little component out and zing, no more hum.

The thing sounds killer right now  .

Re: An update on my Fender Showman:

Its a great amp........ Good Luck with it. What peadls are you running in front of it? I know it is quite a different amp, but I have a 68 SF Super Reverb and this amp sounds killer with a Tubescreamer. I usually set the volume on the amp at about 3 which keeps it very clean but it is still very loud and the tubscreamer just makes the amp sing!

Re: An update on my Fender Showman:

Right now I'm runnin my current pedalboard through it, Fulltone clyde deluxe->Keeley modded Boss BD-2->Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus->Boss Giga Delay DD-20->Boss tuner.

Ain't a real fancy setup, but it gets the job done. The modded BD-2 is a pretty killer pedal, very touch-sensitive, very dynamic. Its the same setup that I run in front of my KRANK. Though, I'm thinkin of pickin up either a plexitone or a SFX-3 for puttin in front of this thing just to give me a few more options as far as distortion goes.

^^^ Sounds like a good rig to me. Who cares about fancy as long as it sounds great and you can achieve your desired tone!!!
