What would happen if I put a analog delay pedal (eg. Ibanez AD-9) in front of a old marshall (which has no effect-loop)?

Would the delay sound good until the amp starts breaking-up?

Then when it goes overdriving, the delay would start to sound like mess cause it would overdrive the already delayed sound, is that right?

If that is what happens, then it would be usable at living room volume as long as the amp stays clean and also with a overdrive pedal.

Guitar ---> Overdrive ---> Analog Delay ---> Old Marshall.

people ran analog delays into old Marshalls with no FX loops for tears and years with no real porblems...I think you will be fine. BTW...what do you thinka bout the AD-9

Re: Analog Delay

Good, then there's no problems!

actually i don't own a AD-9...yet;)

was just thinking about if it would work. Since i'm planning to get a old marshall without effect loop and still like small amounts of delay from time to time. So it's just kind of a plan yet :)
