Strat tuned C#, EMG 85 (Brdige), volume 4-8, tone 0 -> Beano -> Recto -> Hotplate @ -12db
Used into the Recto's clean channel set to MkI mode with the gain around 14:00 it'll do some good crunchy rhythm, or that edgy dirty lead tone you get from boosting a dark mid gain amp. Very retro sounding.
Into the Recto's lead (modern) channel with the gain around 14:30 and the bass up (good for sludgy type stuff, bad for thrashy type stuff) it's more sag than I've ever gotten out of this thing. The boosted treble hits immediatly, but the bass note take a number of miliseconds before it finishes it's bloom. Normally there's your typical Mesa sag, but this is tremendously thick and sweet sounding sag. It makes for some really fat sounding riffs and the leads are like electrified soup.
Normally channel 2 raw is pretty useless with detuning....it's extremely dark, too undefined, and the notes don't sound out well at all. The Beano made it so that the notes rung clear and with good seperation.
Sounded best with the tone down. With the tone up things became pretty harsh pretty fast.
Tomorrow I'll try it with a standard tuned LP, but I'm outta time to play loud today. I'm looking forward to the first chance I have to pull the Hotplate back to -4db and/or 0db. :twisted:
